Join us in Salt Lake City to share latest breakthroughs and key research

Thought leaders in hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) and cellular and gene therapy will converge in Salt Lake City in February for the 2026 Tandem Meetings | Transplantation & Cellular Therapy Meetings of ASTCT®and CIBMTR®. This multidisciplinary event, taking place Wednesday to Saturday, Feb. 4-7, will highlight the latest scientific breakthroughs and technological innovations while connecting experts pushing this rapidly evolving field forward.

“The Tandem Meetings offers a variety of high-quality sessions where experts share the latest in transplantation, cell and gene therapy,” said Scientific Organizing Committee (SOC) Co-Chair Betty Hamilton, MD. “It’s a great opportunity to collaborate, interact and meet with people who are interested in the same topics you may be interested in and in the same research that you’re focused on. We’re broad-reaching, so there’s a diverse range of topics. We aim to offer a strong foundation of education, as well as cutting-edge science — for early learners and for more experienced clinicians and researchers.”

Dr. Hamilton and SOC Co-Chair Stephan Grupp, MD, PhD, facilitated the creation of the 2026 Tandem Meetings program. Dr. Hamilton is an associate professor at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University and the associate director of the Blood and Marrow Transplant Program at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Grupp is the chief of the Cellular Therapy and Transplant Section, director of the Susan and Steven Kelly Center for Cancer Immunotherapy, and the medical director of the Cell and Gene Therapy Lab at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, as well as the Novotny Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine.

The Scientific Track at the Tandem Meetings will begin with Opening Remarks & Plenary: From Breakthrough to Bedside: Navigating the Surging Transplant and Cell Therapy Landscape [ASTCT/CIBMTR/EBMT Joint Session] at 8:15 a.m. MST on Wednesday, Feb. 4. The scientific program will continue to explore the many facets and considerations of cellular and gene therapy with multiple concurrent sessions each day, Meet-the-Professor offerings (which require a ticket to attend), breakfast and lunch symposia, oral abstract sessions and plenaries.

The Scientific Track includes about four dozen sessions featuring expert insights and the latest data in areas such as molecular drivers of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) pathogenesis, donor selection, toxicities related to CAR-T therapy, patient-reported outcome measures, immunotherapy and more.

“The program will cover topics highly relevant to clinicians and researchers while exploring the latest scientific developments,” Dr. Hamilton said. “For example, our GVHD session moves beyond discussion of new standards of care, but covers advancements in the scientific understanding and novel approaches”

Other Tandem Meetings highlights include:

CIBMTR Working Committees meetings, each dedicated to a specific topic to help guide the observational research that culminates in peer-reviewed journals that advance the field toward improved outcomes, and ASTCT Spotlight Sessions, hosted by ASTCT Committees and Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and focusing on transformative clinical and scientific research, are also recommended programming.

“It’s called the Tandem Meetings because it’s a combined meeting between the ASTCT and the CIBMTR, and one of the great and unique aspects of it is that we have the CIBMTR Working Committee meetings, which are a forum for discussion on research ideas and new proposals. It really is an opportunity for the community to participate,” Dr. Hamilton said. “And from the ASTCT side, there’s always great education in the ASTCT Spotlight Sessions, and it’s far-reaching. We’re not just traditional transplants — we now do a variety of cell therapy and gene therapy.”

Each of the nine focused tracks outside of the Scientific Track has one or two days of tailored programming.

Additionally, poster viewing will be available in Poster Hall AB from 1:00 – 7:30 p.m. MST on Feb. 4; 7:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. MST on Feb. 5; 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. MST on Feb. 6; and 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. MST on Feb. 7. Tandem Meetings Poster Reception: Meet the Authors will take place from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. MST on Feb. 5.

The Exhibit Hall will be open in Level 1, Hall B of the Salt Palace Convention Center from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. MST on Feb. 4-6 and 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. MST on Feb. 7.

“I hope that people are excited to connect with colleagues and friends and hear about exciting research and how the field is evolving,” Hamilton said. “There’s a lot of growth and novel therapies. This is going to be a great meeting.”

Registration is open for the 2026 Tandem Meetings. All registered attendees will have access to on-demand recordings of presentations after the meeting.
