The Pharmacy Track at the 2026 Tandem Meetings | Transplantation & Cellular Therapy Meetings of ASTCT® and CIBMTR® will include a spotlight on pediatric stem cell transplant conditioning and, for the first time, a panel discussion dedicated to best practices from CIBMTR.

Pharmacy Track Chair Shannon Palmer, PharmD, BCOP, said the CIBMTR Best Practices Panel will also help pharmacists start getting involved with CIBMTR. “It’s something traditionally not a lot of pharmacists have a lot of experience with,” Dr. Palmer said.
Several program staples will return to the two-day agenda, taking place Feb. 6-7, providing attendees with the opportunity to earn more than 13 hours of Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) credits and four hours of board-certified pharmacist (BCOP) credit in collaboration with the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA). (The full Pharmacy Track Agenda appears at the end of this article.)
“Pharmacists, of course, would benefit from attending these sessions, but also nurse practitioners, physician assistants and even MDs,” said Dr. Palmer, a hematology and bone marrow transplant pharmacist at Oregon Health & Science University.
Dr. Palmer said one example of a session with cross-disciplinary appeal was the Vaccine Update session, which she believes will be of interest to most attendees.
The Tandem Meetings will collaborate with the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) to present Pediatric Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Conditioning: Infants to Adolescence – UK vs US Perspectives on Feb. 7. This session’s featured speakers, pharmacists representing the United States and the United Kingdom, will present the same data at the EBMT Annual Meeting in the spring.
“It’s a nice collaboration where they’re going to compare some of the European standards for infant conditioning regimens with U.S. standards and show the different practices,” Dr. Palmer said. “This collaboration is something we’ve done the last couple of years, but it’s the first pediatric topic we’ve done.”
Other returning topics in the Pharmacy Track include updates from the American Society of Hematology (ASH), which will be presented in two sessions, one on considerations in stem cell transplants and one on cellular therapy. ASH Update 1 and ASH Update 2 both take place on the morning of Feb. 6.
Four BCOP sessions will highlight new developments in several areas of interest, including post-transplant maintenance strategies in multiple myeloma, updates in tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) and interleukin-2 (IL-2) therapies, vaccine updates and infection management following chimeric antigen receptor T cell (CAR-T) therapy for pediatric and adult patients.
“We also always do a couple of case presentations,” Dr. Palmer said. “This year, we’re going to talk about some treosulfan data, and we’ll go into some data about cannabis and bone marrow transplant, as well as a session on pulmonary graft-versus-host disease (GVHD).”
Additional topics getting a fresh look in 2026 include women’s health, specifically menses and menopause strategies for transplant patients; how to incorporate pharmacogenomics into a practice; model-based dosing to improve pre-transplant conditioning; and measurable residual disease (MRD) in acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
“We are proud of the schedule we’ve put together this year, and we think it encompasses a lot of different areas that will complement most people’s practice,” Dr. Palmer said.
